For those weight conscious

Very interesting! I never realized the weight difference between narrow and wide. (Actually, never realized you could get a narrow in the larger sizes.)

For that matter, not sure why safety wire or tie wraps wouldn't work on SCAT tubing or crankcase vent, etc. E.g., the ClampTite tool guy that makes what look like perfectly good wire banding installations for hoses.

Occasional disassembly easier with worm gear clamps.

Speaking of scales and weighing things, got the repair done to my scales---ready when you are.

i wouldn't install any worm gears that aren't made by "Breeze"

Are any of these grainger ones used on any STC'd installs? Breeze are...

Sounds expensive

So very little (none actually, I guess) of our EAB aircraft are subject to STC's or certificated hardware. Why hold a hose clamp to that standard?

ever had a hose clamp fail? my point is not to only install certified items, my point is to consider investigating the differences and draw your own conclusions

i'd buy a breeze clamp, and one of those grainger clamps, put a heat gun on it until it's about engine temp, and then use a torque wrench to failure on each one

i'll bet you the breeze clamp holds up longer, from my experience, they do quite well

Hose clamps like these can be safetied; run the wire through the screwdriver slot, through the gaps in the screw-drive housing, around the back, and back through. Easy and secure.

I like the NAS 398 hose clamps but those are practically unavailable these days. Don't know their weight, but they're easy to attach and release, and secure.
