Weather has been great east of the Mississippi. So gotta fly. Did some local flying but Thursday was special. Having attended the organized flyin on May 1 at Somerville/Fayette County KFYE, Rusty, the airport mgr advised that they have a luncheon every Thursday. So why not ?? Also contacted another RV buddy, Tim Threw RV7A, based at Mount Hawley 3MY near Peoria IL. We met at OSH 2018 & 2019 and survived the rains & flooding. Meeting for lunch when separated by over 600 nm - the RV is magical.
Butch RV6A & I departed Middle Georgia bout 9:30. Tim departed Southbound at the same time. 2 hours 20 minutes flying time and we meet IN THE PATTERN at KFYE landing as a 3-ship. Couldn’t have planned it better. The 3 of us pull up to the pump and Rusty takes care of us filling up with cheap gas $3.85.

Several other planes arrived, maybe 10 or 12, but our 3 RVs were the biggest type represented.

Cheap gas. Great food. And the hosts were awesome - Rusty, Stoney & Dave. Several RV builders in the area and they come to look and ask questions.
If your looking for a place to fly we definitely recommend KFYE.
