Well since the Navy had their moment, I feel it is only fair that the Army has it's turn...

So with that said... please respond with platform type (both RV and military). Thanks,

NAVY, but....

We could form a VAF (Veterans Air Force) and do all kinds of things for veterans of all ages. :)

67N Huey CrewChief. Very lucky to have a job where I still get to crew and fly them. Here's a link that one of our guys took of our H model cranking. Still smells and sounds the same except we don't have those squalling inverters in ours. We went to solid state commercial. Since this video, we have installed a BLR fastfin and strakes which gives plenty of authority without running out of pedal.

RV-8A hope to be flying by the end of the year. Yep, an "A" model cause it aint a big deal to me since WE know that real pilots don't need ANY wheels front or back.:D

Mother Rucker Class 69-24: OH-23, OH-23, UH-1B, C, D, H, M. Three years active, 7 years Guard. Civilian A/C: C-150, 152, 172, 180, 182, 185, 305, 310; T-34 (Julies Clarks plane before it was hers); LA4-200; DHC-2, 3; PA-12, 18, 20, 22, 28, 32; FD CTSW and maybe some others I forgot about; wheels, skiis and floats.

Great memories in the UH-1 series with the cargo doors open, low leveling pulling up for fences, with the bird set to give the maximum whop-whop sound effect!

I tried hard to Join you guys but I ended up as an 88A Transportation Corp.

Pretty interesting how they would send an Aeronautics major with 300 hours of flight time to a logistics branch but they must have their reasons. I start BOLC in September.

How about Army Paratrooper

I'm not building an RV and mostly lurk on this site but...US Army '72 to '75, jumped form C-130's, C-141's and UH1 Hueys...all flown by great pilots, some w/a sense of humor. I'll never forget a night jump in Germany from a C-130, after flying around for a few hours with 100 pounds of s*%t strapped to your back, guys puking etc, the Jumpmaster gets us up and we start going through our pre-checks, the doors are open and the wind is howling, you can see out the door and it's dark as pitch, around 3 am, the pilots have the intercom on: "Co-Pilot: Hey is that the drop zone up ahead?" Pilot: "Yeah, I think so". Co Pilot: "Should we give them the green light?" Pilot: "Yeah...go ahead." Of course the red light turns to green and 30 screaming guys stream out the door at 1000 feet. Of course we landed on the drop zone but we all had our doubts.

John, my Chief Pilot, and good friend, Dave Barnett, has a lot on the airfield at Independence that he is planning on retiring to in the not-too-distant future. You guys will have to meet. Right now he has a Cessna 206, but I should have him "turned" to the RV side by the time he moves in there. :D
