Not sure if you are looking for an FBO for the condition inspection or just an A&P. If the former I would call the folks at C77, Poplar Grove Airmotive, they do nice work. I know of an A&P but not sure he would travel down to the Chicago area, can you bring the aircraft north of the cheese curtain?
As for the DAR, I used the FSDO office out of Milwaukee for my inspection, nice people no issues at all, but that was 10 years ago. I do remember a DAR by the name of Dale Gauger, he worked at Champion Aircraft last I knew. I am sorry. I do not have any contact information for you, you may want to check with the EAA.
