Gail Halvorsen, also known as “the candy bomber”, died yesterday.
He was a aviation icon, especially amongst military air transport pilots.
He was a huge inspiration and influencer concerning my decision what to do for a living.
I was lucky enough to meet him once onboard the “big fella” during our static display at the Udvar Hazey Center for the 70th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift in 2018.
He was such a impressive person and will never be forgotten.
Not really RV related, but worth mentioning anyways……..he was an aviator, like we are.
