Where to go from here

VP200 is dead. Anyone have experience converting to either VPx or cbs or fuse system? I’m not the builder and would love to convert myself.

I’m a bit lost as where to start. Guides to help me design and start this process.

Thanks very much for your help and consideration

I would start here if you really want to convert:

Another option is to buy a replacement VP200, but you might want to talk to the Vertical Power people (https://www.verticalpower.com/) to understand why it failed. I have not yet heard of a complete failure on these devices.

Switching to VP-X

If you are planning to switch to VP-X you would need to have a touch screen Primary Flight Display (PFD) that you can link the VP-X to so that you can see if a circuit breaker fails and then try to reset that circuit breaker on the PFD screen.

Plus the VP-X will display the electrical system on the PFD screen and indicate which systems are turned on and which are turned off.

I have my VP-X Sport connected to my Advanced Flight AF5500.

I would start with the VP-X installation and operating manual which you can download by clicking on this link. Read this document thoroughly to understand the capability of the VP-X.

I also hope you received a copy of the original electrical wiring diagram when you purchased the aircraft so that you can view the old system to also give you an idea with how you may want to do the new.

I hope this helps.
