Gummy residue removal from windshield

Doug94

Well Known Member
I've been working on the fiberglass fairing around my windshield and have gummy residue left from electrical tape in some areas. I dont want to use laquer thinner to remove it for fear of ruining the windshield. Any suggestions that you know of to safely remove the gummy stuff? Thanks

kerosene

Hi Doug,

I used clear kerosene. usually sold at the box stores in the paint area in 1 gal cans. worked great.

Tiki Torch fuel. I had spray lat on my canopy for 7 years. It spent hours with tiki torch fuel on it. Its very mild naptha. Don't even think about something hotter.
