RV-8 Canopy Receptacle Riveting

Hi All,

A quick question on the Canopy Receptacle on the RV8. Can anyone share some ideas on how to rivet the bottom three rivets? I can't find a bucking bar or squeezer yoke that can access the shop head side without bending the flange tab on the bulkhead.

I ended up doing to blind rivets there. I couldn't figure it out either and it was towards the end of my build so my snobbish attitude about pulled rivets was fading away.

I did the three first , bend the part back after riveting.

Good idea G....except I already riveted the other six

Might have to go the pop rivet route. "It's non-structural"

I ground a special bucking bar. It was very tricky and it took an assistant.

I saw your post and had to go take a look to see what I did; I set those with a bucking bar and I don't recall needing to call for help.

I used the bucking bar called "stringer", the end facing away is angled on mine and it's one of my fav. BB's..

If you don't have the proper BB then I would just use a few CS pop rivets. I don't think it will mater much, how much stress can that receptacle even see.
