Doh! Mag drive cushion into the oil sump....

I realized that I mistimed my mag. It's a h2ad with the d3000, which means it has the cushion mag drive. One of the rubber cushions (of two) got away from me and dropped into the oil sump. ****. I think I can fish it out by pushing it around from the mag drive hole and through the screen pickup hole, if not, through the oil drain. I might need to buy a camera to took into the area and locate it. Via lycoming drawings and my own pictures, it should have dropped all the way down.

Please tell me I can pull this off. Dropping the sump is so NOT in my plan! Oil is draining as I write this....panic time....

You're not alone. I did it one time on a 540. Called Mark at Custom Airmotive in a panic also. His recommendation: Remove additional accessory covers on back of engine, slide your flexible grabbers down the hole and you might get lucky. I got lucky. Good luck
