New alternator

Are there any new automotive alternators to replace the ND 14824 or 14870?

Rock Auto has a Delco that looks the same for $105.00 but no cross numbers.
ACDELCO 3351271 Is the number. It looks the same. I’m not going to the B and C.

Thanks.

Left/First pic.

55 amp Internal Reg.

Duralast Alternator 14824. $95 plus $40 core.

Right/second pic- and very different from a 14870, 70 amp externally regulated.

Both appear to hang about the same, but the regulator differwnce is a stand out difference.

I'm a 14184/14129 user, same part, opposite rotation fan. I use the Transpo v1700 external VR as it is adjustable output voltage and has overvoltage protection for $100 at MotorCityReman.

Has anyone tried a new Delco 3351271 alternator? Rock Auto has them new and say they fit the same auto as a ND 14824 or 14870.
Thanks

No, but have looked at the alternator world and Denso has stopped producing new and remain of this model (210-0637).

Although WAI makes pretty good (what does that mean anyway?) parts for the entire alternator, I might choose the ACDelco model too if it was mine. If you do experiment, please give a PIREP on it with any issues found. 2 cents...

FWIW - this alternator configuration is used on some CAT/Perkins and Kubota engines (2012 time frame). They have a heavy double belt pulley so these models may have more heavy duty bearings.

If you don't need the 55 amp capacity: I installed this 35 amp, externally regulated version on my RV6 about 18 months ago. I reused the original pulley and it was an easy swap. The new unit replaced a ND 14184 that had lasted over 20 years. It took the local O'Reilly auto parts store two days to get one brought in from another store.

ACDELCO 3351271

I made the first trip after installation of the ACDELCO 3351271 and it worked perfect for 4.5 hours. No issues with installation, in fact the mounting corner doesn’t have to be filed down like the Denso. It looks the same and is all new parts. Flight to Big Bend National Park, Lajitas International Airport, fuel is $6.89, a $25.00 landing fee, reduced by $1.00 for each gallon of fuel. Very nice FBO.

I have this same combo and works very well for me.
