G3X AHRS Fault after Update Software

Good morning people! Nice to meet you!

I have an RV-10 equipped with two Garmin G3X screens.

I recently performed a software update from version 6.40 to 12.10, however, my AHRS system is no longer working, I have already tried to modify the RS232 entries and was unsuccessful. The autopilot and GPS are being recognized.

I was thinking of downgrading the software back to version 6.40, but I can't find it on the web.

Before the update everything was working perfectly ... during the procedure, I kept all equipment activated as PA and all screens.

Did you leave the system on long enough for it to update all of the devices? It can take a while and doesn't really show its progress.

Seems several folks have had problems with the 12.10 sw update. Call Garmin and ask for a copy of the 12.0 version. It was very stable. I have avoided the update due to the reports here.

Wow, upgrading from V6.40 to V12.10 is a huge leap! That plane hasn't been maintained in years.

Fortunately, there is a simple resolution.

You will need to first upgrade to V8.00 (or downgrade from V12.10 to V8.00). You will then see that the GSU 73 is working again. At that point you can re-load V12.10 and everything will be fine.

Contact Garmin at [email protected] to obtain the needed V8.00 software.

Good afternoon my friends!

I really appreciate your attention, and thanks to another friend here in Brazil, I got version 8.00, and when installing, the AP TRUTRACK installed on the aircraft was not recognized. However, when redoing the update to 12.10 from 8.00, everything returned to normal, I was able to configure the RS232 inputs, as it was previously.

In order to keep the record here on the forum, and to help other pilots who have the same problem, I am available to help too. If anyone needs version 8.00, contact me via [email protected]
