Garmin 430W / GTX330ES - wiring for ADSB Out

I acquired a plane with a 430W and GTX330ES but that has never been configured for ADSB out. i want to do that and am going through the manuals.

I do not want to use the ARINC on either box for this ADSB Out functionality.

The GTX330ES currently has working Fuel/Air data via serial IN from a GRT GXR EFIS.
The 430 will also have this, the same way.
The 430W will be interfaced to the GRT HXR via the ARINC.

I was told the 330ES will need to get quality GPS position data via a serial line from the 430W outputting the special “ADSB+ format.” Then change the integrity level to 1E-7 and enable the ADSB out. But my 430W installation manual doesn’t mention that connection or software choice, and neither does my 330ES installation manual.

Advice please! Currently the plane has a SkyBeacon For ADSB out and if I get this working I’ll sell that.

Regards, Bill H

Depending on how old the 430W is, you may need to take it to a Garmin dealer to have a software update installed so that it meets the ADSB requirements.

YES, software was 3.3. I can get an upgrade to 5+ for $100 at a local shop. Will soon have a slightly used Skybeacon for sale!

Funny that the 430W Installation manual on the official Garmin website (downloaded from there a couple of weeks ago, before their ransomware attack) is Rev E from March 2008. You would think they would keep those up to date.
