I'm nearing the end of my empennage build. The plans are good but there have been a few times I wish there were some time saving tips. For a couple examples the F-1284 R & L parts are mislabeled.

Plans say rivet all HS-1217 but fail to mention if you're installing the optional stabilator tip fairings it's only 6 rivets not all 10.
I'm assuming as I move onto the other kits there will be similar situations where some tips would help the build go smoother. I've searched on here without any luck. Can anyone suggest a good build log or website for the newer iS with that kind of info? Or we start a post on here with tips and advice you have come across.

Joe Gores put together an extensive list for the original -12, much of which is still pertinent to the latest model. The best advice is to read ahead and think ahead before pulling a rivet, but I know it's easy to start plowing through steps when you get in the zone. Checking off those steps is so satisfying!

Ah, so my link was useless? All I did was go to his user profile and click on "Find all threads started by Mich48041."

I did come across those posts. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't Van's redesigned a lot since 2008, are most of those still valid?

For what its worth.. I'd say about 90% of the time you think you find an error in the manual.. its because you did something wrong.

In the past 3 years, i only remember a couple KAI updates that had to address mislabeled diagrams.. the only one that stands out in my mind was a Left vs Right pointer on rudder pedals or something along those lines.
