main gear leg thread pitch?

Does anyone know what the thread pitch and size is for the main gear legs?

Don't ask why, its too embarrassing to say....

Drawing #45 Gear Dimension

Hi Al,
According to the drawing, it is a 1 1/4 - 16 NEF thread. The threaded part is 1.0 inches long.

Main gear thread size

1 1/4 - 16 NEF

I needed to extend the threaded portion on the nose gear and found a die of the correct size on eBay for about $70. It worked fine. The name brand dies from specialist tool shops were $200-$400.

It is not hard to find, don't get hung up on the NEF, just look for the 1 1/4-16. 1.25 UNC means -7 pitch, 1.25 UNF is -12 pitch. They are still a 60 degree thread.

What throws me off on Vans Spec, is that the that the ANSI spec for UNEF thread in 1.25" is 18 pitch, not 16.
