attaching nose gear leg fairing

Just finishing up RV-12 wheel pants. I notice the nose gear leg fairing has a nice flange along the trailing edge, but is held closed with piano hinge on the inside, with a hard-to-reach hinge pin securing them together. It's tempting just to close it with 3-4 tiny nut & bolt set-ups through the trailing edge flange. Any thoughts?

hi i just put a big bead of silicon on to gear leg and stuck the fairing on
easy to do easy to remove and no holes in gear leg

Proseal will fixl it!

Make a big glob of Proseal and slug it in. Never have a problem with it opening up again.
