Manual trim cable

How do you remove the locking nut from the knob end of the trim cable? On my cable the locking nut will not clear over the large crimped connector just aft of the plastic body. I can't figure how to mount the trim cable on the F983 Fuel Valve plate triangle without removing the nut first. Am I overlooking something simple here?

The crimped conector you are referring to is actually a nut, back it completely off and slide it down the cable. At this point you will actually be able to unhook the cable from the nob. To do this though the black nob has to be ran all the way in. I think it will make more since when your actually looking at it.

Thanks Steve. Got it apart tonight. Guess I was just being too cautious and not wanting to find out what a replacement cost.
