New Taxi and landing lights

I’ve played with this design for little bit . It’s a light mounted in the wing access area . On the 8 /7 there is a few inches of space between it and the aileron control tube . With six access panels a few different combinations of light could be accomplished. Could also speed schedule the angle of the light beam for Tailwheel taxi and landing.
I don’t have time to play with the idea and was putting it out here if someone wanted to see what they could come up with .

The mock-up is an ATV style LED mounted on a piano hinge to a piece of .090 aluminum

Cool idea

I love this idea. When I get to that point I'll have to look into this. I'm thinking on the bottom of the wing, with the skin being load bearing I wonder what size doubler you'd need.

RC servos are popular for actuation. There are different stand alone controllers to move servos you can mount behind panel. Personally I would NOT mount lights in access panels under wing. Why? Wing tip or leading edge locations are tried and true places for landing and taxi lights. Added complication is the other reason which takes more time and more weight.

RV Builders don't often put lights in lower cowl below prop, which is common in production planes. It can be done. The bad part is with incandescent bulbs the vibrations killed their life span. However with LED's they should last much longer. Also small diameter makes them easy to fit.
