Removing canopy scratches

I messed up big time a few nights ago and used what I thought was a clean rag to clean the bugs off my RV12 canopy, along with plenty of water. It must have had some grit on it because flying today with the sun at the proper angle I can see major new scratches. I'd picked up some minor scratching over the past five years of flight but now the damage is really noticeable.

What options do I have for polishing those out-a new canopy is definitely not in the budget.

I've removed isolated deep scratches and nicks / rock chips with progressively wet-sanding to 2200 grit sand-paper and then use wax. You might be able to use an electric buffer and buffing compound if it's all over. Check AC 43.13-1b to verify information. Old days they used scrim cloth.

I just saw Larry's link - $36 for a kit plus shipping. I guess that's not too bad.

Anyway - that's nothing to sweat

Good Luck -
