Kelly --
There are three brands of oil drain valves that I am aware of being used on 912 engines: Curtis, Saf-Air, and Fumoto -- GOOGLE "aircraft oil drain valves" for info. I use a Curtis valve on my RV-12 ULS and have had no issues with Curtis valves over the decades. We used Saf-Air valves on our Bonanza and Skylane -- no issues there either. Whatever valve you buy be sure that it will fit your specific oil tank -- some valves interfere with the plate inside the bottom of the tank.
ps -- There are some users who suggest not installing a somewhat restrictive quick-drain valve so as not to impede the cleansing flow of dirty oil out of the tank. I find the ease of draining oil with a quick-drain to outweigh the higher cleansing flow of the simple drain plug.
