IPad Mini issue

I have been running my Mini 4 I Pad with Garmin Pilot without issues since 2018. Suddenly over he past couple flights the mapping does not keep up with the flight and my plane icon flys off the map onto just a grid. Usually after the 1st hour. I removed Garmin Pilot, reloaded it and reloaded all the maps, but it did not resolve the issue. On the last flight I switched over to my IPhone 7, then my regular IPad that’s a year old, which did not have any issues. The IPad links up to the G3X touch via bluetooth. Anyone run into this issue with a IPad mini 4.
