Compression

Ironsman

I'm New Here
Hello everyone, first post here!
I just purchased an RV-8 and wanted to know how good the compression is, the last annual (3 months ago) read;

Cylinder 1 76/80
Cylinder 2 74/80
Cylinder 3 75/80
Cylinder 4 72/80

It is a 2005 RV-8 with a CS Hartzell and an Aerosport O-360-A1Awith 367 hours airframe, power plant, and engine.
Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

You bet.

Mel is right on the money. With the % of them being that close to each other and the margin of being a gage reading that will often read up or down a few pounds each time you take a reading and spin the pistons to a new "TDC", you should have a good smooth running engine. Your air pump should be well balanced that is. Yours as always. R.E.A. III #80888

Run it hard, run it often, and those numbers ought to improve.

However, given my recent luck, perhaps that s/b taken with a grain (pound) of salt.
