Pg 31B-10

I have installed the reed switches as the plans call for. The switch is directly in contact with the arm rest so I cannot get it any closer to the magnet. I was able to ensure continutiy by taking the 1217 out of position and put it right up next to the switch, so I know theswitch is functioning properly.

I am open to any suggrestions.

Van's has a change to the mag switch....much simpler...
 
Easiest way to fix is to reduce the length of the stainless steel handle by grinding 1/8" off the length. The switch has to be above the end SS handle section to work, the SS creates a sharp cutoff of the magnetic field from the center latch pin.
