Canopy horizontal brace

Working on canopy and there is a “sharp” protrusion facing forward mid span on the rear horizontal brace. Other than wounding my head, anyone have an idea what it’s purpose is? Reminds me of a canopy piercer on top of an ejection seat. But this faces forward…

That alignment pin fits into a delrin block at the front of the slider track to help keep the canopy centered on the track and limit movement. As the canopy is almost closed the pin will slide downward on the track and into the delrin block.
