What do you do the first time you get your trim tab hooked up?

Well, you have to run the trim motor and watch it move up and down while grinning like a madman, right? And I had no choice but to film its movement and add some amusing music over the top. :)

(It seems like that reflective aluminum really confuses the auto-focus on my camera)

I made sure that it went DOWN when I trimmed for up-elevator.
You'd be surprised at how many guys get it backwards.

Approximately 50% of the airplanes I inspect have either the tab or the indicator or both backwards.

I probably need a life too but when I ran my flaps this summer for the first time I got a full-blown RV grin. I had to show the wife and a friend. They were nonplused - "well, you're building an airplane, right?" In hindsight neither of them get the unbridled joy of flying, so it was probably unrealistic to expect them to find joy in small plane building successes.
