I'm currently helping two RV6 owners with HSTAB work. What I've found is that the hinge spacing isn't very consistent across planes. Built to plans... seems to be plus/minus 1/4"

So it is unlikely that you can *just* get a single elevator that will mate up correctly. And there is no good, safe and easy way to move the hinge - either on the elevator or the HSTAB.

The elevator is not an expensive kit from Van's... and then you can build it to fit *your* HSTAB.

Yep, I bought a abandoned kit, didn't care for the elevator or rudder build, bought the parts and made new ones. They go pretty fast.
