Default Garmin Aera 760..SOLD

Just went through a major panel upgrade and will no longer be needing my Garmin Area 760. It's in absolutely perfect condition although the databases will need to be updated. They were good through December 2022. It comes with the mount cradle and a Garmin GA 25 antenna. These are fantastic units. I'd be happy to have a conversation with anyone who needs more information on it. $1150 with free shipping to the lower 48 states... Thank you....

It’s Saturday and Stein is closed. Does anyone know if the 660 dock will work with the 760?

I asked Garmin about that at Oshkosh last year and they said no, it's a different design that isn't compatible between the two models.

Docks are not the same. The 760 cradle is bigger and designed to use a 9-pin DSUB connector instead of a fixed data/power cable. Not compatible at all between the 660 and 760. The interface with a GDL 5X(r) is the same, though with same number of wires, color designations and serial ports. The 760 is amazing if you have the room for it. The 660 is equivalent on a basic level but the 760 does give some more features like IFR flight plan transfer with WAAS navigators and MAPMX turning into a MFD. But for most flying the 660 provides equivalent functionality with a smaller screen and lower cost. Photos of the 660 dock and 760 dock attached hereto. 660 on left. 760 on right.

Jim,

Good summary, but the Aera 660 has the same great MapMX capabilities of the Aera 760 to accurately show the complete dynamic curved path approach or other flight plan information from a Garmin IFR navigator over MapMX.

More info here.
