Propeller Pitch Question

AviatorBear747

I'm New Here
I fly an RV-6 in Colorado. I need more weight up front for CG issues and have an opportunity to replace the composite prop with a fixed-pitch Sensenich metal prop. The Sensenich prop has an aggressive climb pitch (74 dia, 56 pitch) and I want to have it re-pitched for high-speed cruise. The prop service wants to know what RV-6 fliers consider a typical cruise pitch so I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone routinely flying their RV-6 in the Western U.S. Thanks, James – [email protected].

Vans recommended Sensenich is 72x85 for 360/180hp, for 320 is something like 70x79. So that would be a pretty radical repitching for a 56 prop.
Prop shop I used told me he could not repitch a blade more than +- 5” (don’t know what your prop guy would limit changes to)
