Autopilot Harness Length

dksington

I'm New Here
I have ordered a Garmin autopilot (G5, GMC-507, and associated servos, magnetometer etc) from Mendelssohn’s in the UK and they need lengths for the harness for my RV-7. For those who have either started with this setup or upgraded to it, which of the following routes did you use for the harness:

Panel (G5-AP controller) – Roll servo (in and out of wing) – Pitch servo – Magnetometer, or
Panel (G5-AP controller) - Pitch servo – magnetometer - Roll servo (terminates here so one way into the the wing)

The second reduces the wiring in the wing but feels slightly longer overall. Any thoughts?

If anyone has already installed this setup (or one like it, say using the G3X), what was your experience (is there anything you would do differently)?

Finally, I’m currently away from the aeroplane - if anyone would mind sharing their harness lengths please I’d be very grateful.

Thank you for any and all input.
