some one outside of the US. Is there anything I would need to do, or notify in order to sell my airplane to someone from outside the US? If the sale happens, they would come to me and buy the plane, and they would handle it from there on out. Never even thought about it before.

Thanks Gil. Do I do that at the time of sale? How does the new owner fly it away to where it needs to go for transport, or south or north of the border for that matter?

There are several ways to handle this. One way is to let them use the N number until they arrive in the home country (assuming it's being flown out of the US). Another is to "force" them to register in their country prior to even flying from here. Both are options. Former is easier of the two (for both parties).

If it's being flown to its new owner then it may be simpler to cancel the registration after delivery, but at slightly more risk to you. Otherwise the issues are mostly for the buyer or their agents.
