Default Flaperon Linkage

This is a curiosity question.

I'm trying to visualize how the flaperon mixer / linkage works.

So I'm looking for a visual diagram of the system.

$10 buys you a Van's Rv-12 KAI memory flash stick, with all the plans and schematics on it, when building. It will have on it what you're looking for. Other option is find a local RV-12 that's going under an inspection annual, and ask to take a look when everything is opened up.
RV-12, #212 N72DJ, bought flying. A Blessing in disguise. Thank you Double D!

I agree the Kit Assembly Instructions do a fantastic job of showing exactly how it works.

I’d also suggest looking at build logs from the many talented builders on or search with google for a popular build log software. And google should also reveal builder videos too.

If you are near the Bay Area, let me know as I can show you the 12iS I helped build and fly.

Hope that helps.

First time I learned about “mixer” linkage for flaperons was building an RC model as a teen.

I had the same question when I was staring at the flaperon mixer does this thing work? I found this video that shows the mixer in action...makes more sense now
