Gasket(s) for prop governor

Hello fellow RVators. I’m hoping the brainstorm here can answer my question. I am mounting my new MT prop governor on my AeroSport Power IO-375 engine. On the accessory pad of the engine is a green flat (fiber) gasket under the cover plate. However, there is a black gasket with a fine mesh filter screen already on the governor. Should I use both gaskets to install the governor? I am assuming that the green gasket should be removed as I believe that gasket was installed under the cover plate for storage. Thanking the brainstorm in advance.

You don’t want both gaskets - use the one with the fine screen filter when mounting the governor.

Thanks.

Thank you Paul. I kinda assumed this was the case. Just wanted to make sure.

If the metal mesh on your gasket protrudes away from Being flat, there is a right way and a wrong way to install. Do some searching for correct install. Been too long since I did mine but I remember there being a spec for it.
