equipped with a Grand Rapids EIS with fuel flow transmitter.

Does the Grand Rapids EIS have to adjusted to read the correct fuel level.

My Fuel Flow transmitter is accurate.
My fuel level is grossly "inaccurate".

Recently I drained my tanks and installed fuel per gallon and looked at the guage, its not usable.

I am new the aircraft, fuel system, and GRapids EIS.

Yes, calibrated as noted above.

Also, it will never read accurately through the entire "full to empty" range. This is with a float type sender-----capacitance sender may be different.

Might depend on the type of fuel level sensor you have, but with mine, due to the position of the sensor and the tilt of the wing, the 21 gallon tanks will read 16 gal when the true amount is somewhere between 16 and 21 gal. When below 16 gal the reading is pretty accurate.

I concentrated on getting my fuel flow calibration very accurate, and trust it very much. The float senders were also calibrated, but I only really pay attention how they behave near empty, since I rarely have less than 8 gallons total after flying.
