What is the preferred method for drilling a 1 inch hole in the side of the fuselage for the fuel line grommets?

Will a regular hardware store hole saw do the trick? Any tips for keep it from wandering?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

yup.. the one with the pilot.. just enlarge the existing hole a little for the pilot and drill away..

Best method for a clean 1" hole is a chassis punch if you can find one to borrow. They are pretty expensive for a one time use.

I used my step drill (unibit) to 7/8", then did the last 1/8" with my Dremmel, was quick and easy and came out real nice.

I used the large Unibit. You have to take one side out to 1", which will result in the other side (since there's two pieces of Al there separated by a small space) being slightly less. So then you just go to the other side and take it out to 1". Worked great for me.
