Throttle Cable/length/location

Well Known Member
I am almost to the point of installing the engine control cables.
I have the Stein extended panel with engine control panel mounted
on the bottom center of panel.
The cables I have came with the finish kit ordered in 2008 when the
project was started. The plans I have show the throttle cable goes
thru the FW just below the heater box and a hole is located there.
I have a 320 with Bendix fuel servo for FI. Throttle is bottom left.
The throttle cable, ACS 44.5" is not even close to long enough. Even
if I route it on a 45 deg angle from the panel straight to the exit hole in FW
the threaded tip does not reach the bracket for the throttle.
The plans show the mixture and prop exit holes on the upper left of FW and
yep there are two holes there.
So, from the learned folks out there, what am I messing up or have missed.
The longest Van's list is a 50" and I am not sure that is long enough.
This is RV9A.

Bert,

Whatever came of this? I see you're flying now so I'm guess you found the right cable.

I'm having the same issue with a bendix fuel servo.

Thanks
