Texas State Fair Day Trip

WooHoo! She's asking me to fly her places and the Texas State Fair is on the list. I need good advice on where to fly into for a day trip. Preferably without renting a car mainly to avoid the hastle of parking if it's as bad as I remember it during TX-OU trips back in the day.

I saw a train from Denton to the green line if we can figure out how to get from the airport to the train station in Denton.

Suggestions are much appreciated as I want to keep my co-pilot HAPPY!

Redbird KRBD (aka dallas executive) and it is probably the closest field to the cotton bowl 15 miles away.

Fuel prices are high, but ambassador will probably put you in a hangar.

I'd rent a car and park at a garage downtown and ride the dart over. Probably 45 minute trip with traffic and gameday madness. From Denton I'd imagine that would take as long as your flight from central Texas.

We make a trip to the Fair each year. RBD and rent a car. Go on a weekday and you only have to worry about normal rush hour(s) traffic.
