Aluminum Canopy Skirts

I'm considering re-doing my sliding canopy (I have a 4" crack in the usual spot that has driven me nuts for 4 years (been completed 5 years)). I've heard of others that have gone the metal skirt route and looking for some advice or pictures on how you have done this. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks
