Decided to take an evening flight with my wife around Lake Tahoe. Ended up being a beautiful sunset. Keep pounding those rivets!

It really was a pretty sunset least night, even from the ground!

Next mission - find the new “monolith” that popped up on a ridge overlooking Tahoe near the California/Nevada border. I went looking this morning, and have the area narrowed down based on matching a background in a news story photo - but didn’t see the thing.

Tahoe

In another life.........our squadron favorite photo.

Interesting...and beautiful!

Interesting because here I am, a corporate pilot (supposedly retired 😁) from Indiana. Was on a 4-day trip to RNO this week and just drove up and made the trip around Tahoe yesterday afternoon. First time I'd done that since '73! It was definitely a beautiful day.

Also, Paul, I made the drive down to A34 Tuesday mid-day to look around. I'm afraid I liked it a little too much!

You should have dropped in for a visit, not just a look around.

If I had made contact with anyone before making the trip down, I might have. Hate to drop in unexpectedly on someone who doesn't know me from Adam. Besides, I had no idea where in there you or Paul lived.

I love the idea of airpark living (maybe a little more than my wife might ;)). I had thought that A34 was a little more remote but the Dayton seemed to be a very neat community.

Can't imagine I could ever convince the wife we should pick up and move that far from family (I've got a pretty great one) to live on an airpark.

Ray:

What did you take these pictures with? The resolution and colors are fantastic. Was it just with your phone?

My wife took them all with last years best iPhone. 11 Max Pro. The fisheye lens on it takes some great shots. She has a very nice Canon but rarely uses it in the plane. I get too nervous when the metal lens gets close to the canopy. 😳
