Tip: Close quarters countersinking

I recently had to countersink some holes in a tight spot and thought the technique might be useful to someone else:

Pick up a piece of thin wall brass tubing from your local hobby shop. The piece I used was 21/32 OD and fit perfectly on my angle drill. About $4.

Cut a piece the right length. This took a few tries to get it just right:

It fits over the countersink bit thusly:

Gets into tight spaces no problem:

Good luck,

Just curious, what are you attaching there that demands a countersunk fastener?

Thanks, Bob K.

Angle brackets with nutplates are riveted to all the firewall stiffeners. This allows me to screw on a firewall sub panel, which will trap fireproofing insulation between the sub panel and the firewall.
