I am confused by the first step in my canopy install!
It says to final drill the struts on one end 07/64 and the other end 03/8.
7/64 is much smaller than the opening on the gas tube side which is about 1/4 inch.
3/8 is much larger than the opening on the strut side which is also about 1/4 inch.
Look again, it’s 17/64, the clearance drill size for 1/4. The 3/8 dimension is correct as an aluminium bushing goes into the hole for the pivot point.

Hi Dave... Thanks for the reply and that is very helpful. I thought I had the latest plans "34 Revision 4 02/29/16" and it clearly is labeled 07/64. I took a photo and I cannot attach it here.
So when I opened my usb version I see "34 Revision 4 07/11/16" and now the final drilling says 017/64.
You should download all the current plans from the Van’s store.

34-02 Step2: My AN509-10R16 #10 screws do not want to pass through the opening drilled into my canopy frame. The instructions say to use a cutter with a #12 pilot. So for others at this point I plan to use a #10 drill.
AN509-10R16 the 10 means a #10 screw
The screw is 3/16 inch in diameter.
A #10 drill hole is slightly larger than 3/16 inch.
A #12 pilot is slightly smaller than a #10 drill hole.
So as I understand it the #10 drill will leave room for both the smaller #12 pilot cutter and the 3/16
inch screw.
