Default Van's RV-12 Notification 14-07-03 - All METAL Locknuts
Reposted to make it easier to find during a forum search.

Van’s Aircraft recommends that owners and/or operators of all RV models comply with the applicable recommendations in SAIB HQ-14-16 per Van's RV-12 Notification 14-07-03.

From the parts lists. Found that Van's supplied 29 locknuts for my RV-12.

Found a few others by doing a .pdf word search on all of the page revisions that Van's has posted.

For those with later kits, the locknuts are used in the Skyview/Transponder installation, the new fuel pump drain line, the new fuel tank vent line, the new canopy latch microswitch. They may be used elsewhere in the lighting kit which I do not have.

They are also used in the very first iteration of the fuel tank lexan window (which were removed with new new lexan window in the S.B.).

If anyone has a complete set of plan pages in .pdf format, a complete search would be trivial. I only have the pages that have been revised.

Anyone have a COMPLETE set of plans in .pdf??

How about the one securing the fuel tank vent line clamp backside the bulkhead rear of the fuel tank?

Because this is a Sticky thread, is this Notification relevant to new builds? RV12is started in 2018. If it is still relevant, does anyone have a new link to the SAIB HQ-14-16 the posted link doesn't seem to return anything except a 404 error.

Not a hijack at all. I now have the doc but still no idea if Van’s fixed this prior to shipping my build perhaps using a different nut. Guess I will search my parts list for this MS number.
