Lycoming Flywheel Thickness?

Does anyone have a Lycoming flywheel so they can measure the thickness of the flywheel where the bolts pass through it?

I am trying to get my spinner/cowl gap correct, so I need to build everything up just like the real engine will have. I'm going to use a piece of wood to simulate the flywheel thickness.

Flywheel thickness

Mine is the same at .250. My dummy engine and actual engine were slightly different in length when comparing the cowl to spinner gap. I would fit the cowl with a little more spinner gap than you want and build up with micro. If the final fit is too tight with the actual engine and prop you have this micro that can be sanded down to the gap you want.

Diameter of ring/flywheel

Great tip Don, thanks. I wouldn't have thought of that.

Also, does anyone have the diameter of the ring/flywheel? I forgot I'll need that as well.

Aircraft Spruce!

I just checked aircraft spruce for the ring gear, and this is one of the answered questions:

Q: What is the diameter of this 72566 Lycoming ring gear?

ID approx 11-3/8". OD approx 12-1/2".
