I see that #21 (Tom Moore) turned in a fairly respectable 215 mph average in his RV7A. I believe he still has the eggenfellner H-6 power plant.

Race # Aircraft Tail Number Pilot Start Finish Total Time Miles Avg. Speed MPH

21 RV-7A N621TM Tom Moore 14:31:20 16:29:11 1:57:51 422.50 215.09

I Don't Think So

The Race Program (which is very inaccurate by the way) says he has a Superior XP-360 engine in it. I raced against Tom Moore in the Taylor 100 and the AirVenture Cup. His attention to detail in preparing his plane for a race has to be seen to be appreciated. He certainly has my respect after beating me by 11 mph in texas and 8 mph from Dayton to Oshkosh yesterday. Here is a photo I took of his plane at the airport in Taylor Texas.

Below is a copy of the results handed out by Eric Whyte yesterday evening.

Maybe different Tom Moore?

We may have another "Doug Reeves" type coincidence here.
It's possible this is not the same 7A or Tom Moore or maybe he swapped out the H6 for the 360.
I recognized the name from when I was considering an egg a few years back and looked at the Tom Moore video again yesterday (http://cddevelopment.com/tcm/video.htm). I could not plainly make out the Tail # but it 'looked' like the number ended in TM.

Who knows. The speed was great by itself but it would have been phenomenal if it was due to the H6 powerplant.

I imagine if that were true it will have been quickly acknowledged on the Eggenfellner site.

Fast RVs

I would like to know what some of these folks are doing to get such fast aircraft.
