I was finally getting around to installing the heat muff, and it turns out the only routing that looks like it will work is putting the 2" scat tube pretty close to the exhaust (maybe 3/4"clearance). It is about 4" down from where the exhaust meets the cylinder. I was planning on putting a heat shield on the exhaust there but I figure that will only leave maybe 1/4" between the shield and the scat tube.
Does this sound ok?
