Window defrost

While waiting for my windows to defrost in my truck this morning, I was contemplating the need for some type of window defrost in the RV. Has anyone fabricated some sort windshield defrost system in their RV? Or better yet, is it even necessary? Just curious.

I've got a 2 inch eyeball duct mid glareshield on my 6A and 10. I've needed it a couple of times in the winter or when the temp and dewpoint are very close. Seems to like to fog as soon as you take off.

A bad experience once in a Warrior a long time ago made me do it. Easy to do and light. No regrets.

I've never found it necessary. Mine tends to fog while taxi but clears almost immediately after lift off. A good middle strategy is to cut slots in your glareshield to allow the interior heat to rise onto the windshield. It doesn't really need to be blown onto it, IMHO.

Yes. Yes. See previous posts on this subject.
Cut a 2.25in. hole(s) in the glareshield using a hole saw.
Cut out a bezel with about 3in OD-use same saw on ID
Purchase one or two computer fans from Radio Shack.
Wire in an on/off breaker switch.
Cover the inside of the hole with black window screen.
Fasten bezel to top and fan to underside of glare shield using machine screws.
Watch fan clearance if you have a tip-up.
Another 20 minute job that you should be able to finish in 2-4 hours.
Good Luck.
