This topic was over on the Safety forum this week, but it applies to us here because the -12iS, and perhaps the original -12 were outfitted with ACK E-04 ELTs.
It is possible to install the remote control's placard upside down -- making the red button "RESET" and the black button "ON", which is incorrect.
Surprisingly that thread got quite a few responses with pilots saying they ran out to look at their plane and found that they had installed it backwards also.
Most amusingly, even Flight Chops, of YouTube fame, also installed it incorrectly in his RV-14 and nobody noticed at Oshkosh 2022 & 2023 while his plane was on display at the Garmin & Hartzell booths ..or in any of his YouTube videos. (I dropped him a message and he said he'd check it out).
