Need advice on how to fit the J-stiffener to one of our tailcone skins. Specifically, the right bottom skin (F-01282-R-1). This is page 10iS/U-06 in the plans.
There is a pronounced gap between the J-stiffener and the skin at the point where two holes need to be match drilled. The left skin had a much smaller gap that was not much of a problem when installing the two solid rivets called for.
No amount of squeezing will work to reduce this gap due to where it is – right at the bends. If we remove the clecoes and push the parts together, then those existing holes don’t come anywhere close to being lined up.
We can’t see a way to make this work. Thoughts?
