D180 upgrade to Skyview

I read somewhere that the Skyview has it's own autopilot and does not communicate with the AP74..Is that true? This is all about brightness and I just can't see my old D-180 very well in bright sunlight and the "Superbright" D-180 is no longer available. So, I'm considering switching to the Skyview Would the D-100 continue to be a part of the system?.

Any recommendations on an install shop in the southeast US?
