What to do with an extra thermocouple

I have installed a Dynon HDX system in my RV-4. Since I have a Ellison throttle body with no provisions for a carb temp sensor, I have a spare sensor and was wondering where to install it. I was thinking of installing it to measure oil cooler discharge air temperature. Or should I install it somewhere else in the engine bay to measure air temp coming out of the cowling.

Any ideas?

Fire detection?

I installed mine on the fire wall as an early warning fire detection system.
First monitor your average temperatures with your new probe on the lower end of the firewall and then set your upper temp limit.
If a fire breaks out in the engine compartment it will heat up very quickly and get your attention via the over temp warning on your Dynon.
If you need it for something else later, it will be easy to move to a different location in the engine compartment.
