Tail wheel modification

g zero

Well Known Member
Lots of options for Tailwheel’s out there. I needed one about 1 lb heavier than stock . Decided to modify the original. Laser cut some 14 ga Stainless Steel “ Hub Caps , held in place with stainless button heads . Replaced the fork with 3/16 steel and added a fin with a tie down hole . The results raised the tail slightly ,gave me a tie down point , able to taxi over a lip without getting stuck and gained the pound I needed .
