Different Left and Right Main Tires

After having a flat on Passenger Side during one of the trips, I decided to change the one tire(Monster Retreads-existing, Airtrac-new) and tube a few months ago. Yesterday, I noticed the pilot side tire is wornout quite a bit since the tire change on the other side and the brakes pads on the pilot side have lost 50% more. Before the tire change on the passenger side, I was under the impression that the wear was even as per my observation.

I understand that Pilot side sees more wear in general due to one up flying. Given that 95% of my flying is always two up, I don't believe that is the case. I would like to know if this can be attributed to different tires and would it be best to run the same type of tire on both mains going forward in general?
